אלול
a transitional month
What is the avoda?
How we can make the most of it?
A tremendous avoda
how do you hold space for the dual reality
closing out one year;
taking full inventory of the person I’ve become;
ingathering of everything acquired
simultaneously with
planting new seeds for the coming year
adding a vision
of the potential for the next year
individually
with others
and ultimately for the splendor
within Klal yisrael.
Its easy to be pulled to the future and to the past
Stay in the moment
as much as possible!

אני לדודי ודודי לי
Why begin with “אני“?
why does it propel everything forward?
ultimately there can be
a shared space between people
to come to realize this
in an incredible way
tikkun hamiddos are the basis of Torah

אני לדודי ודודי לי
A paradox
simple and deep
implications so magnanimous
H” says
“I am only to you
to the extent you are to me
to the extent you are to others
to the extent you are to your self”

An intra-perspective time
to connect to oneself
adam l’nafsho
Refining our essentials
our authentic sense of togetherness with HKB”H
H’ says,
“I want to know deep in your mind & heart
Where are you?”
Soulfully, authentically

look inside
as deeply as you can
who’s the real you
ruach / lev / koach
Going into the new year
trade UP
refining
sharpening
lifting up
the self
based on everything you’ve become
this entire year

SOULFULLY SPEAKING
At the crux of your innermost being
“I want to know your capacity
ben adam lnafsho!”
that is how we’ll be judged;
our own inner ratzon
based on who we want to become
the effort / toiling in becoming
It is deeper than just doing mitzvos

of our devotion
to become
to be the best divine beings
and to be a reflection of H’

OUR INNER ESSENCE
a refinement of the raw materials
our nefesh behamis
holding us back
we know we are precious to you

The quantum transition of 2 years
One year flowing into the next
reconciling who we are
and who we want to become
RATZON + BEHIRA +HISHTADLUS

Greatness
May we be a vehicle
to reflect His presence in the world
for klal Yisrael
for everyone in the world

good-hearted soul people
are a league unto themselves
relating to אני
holding space
for ourselves
and others

the more I connect to the אני
not in an egotistical way
how I commit
how I serve
driven by H
for the sake of others
then I come closer to H’it’s a spiritual paradox
